December 2022: Our Community Christmas Tree
The Society has been providing a Christmas Tree for Ainsdale Village for many years now and we originally received a grant from the Council towards the costs. Over the years, costs have escalated and this year the Council said they would no longer offer funding.
So, we went to our community and raised a Just Giving Page. The response was amazing and within a few weeks, we had received enough donations from our residents and traders to pay for a tree this year, over £2000.
Some of our traders gave large donations including The Busy Bee, Grayson’s, Gifts & Cards, FPC, The Lions Shop, Nicolas Spooner of Be Yourself Counselling, Luxe Hair Salon, Ainsdale Cycling Club, Dukes Wine Bar, Dolce Vita and Yoga with Jools. We also had collection boxes at some outlets on Station Road and they raised over £50 in a couple of weeks.
So, we have enough to cover the full cost of the tree.
So, we were delighted to be able to purchase a 25ft tree which was erected last week by Illumidex in the Village Community Garden and looks absolutely stunning!
We are most grateful to the Village Church Elders who allow us to place it in their garden and also cover the running costs for the period.
All in all, this has been a true community lead event and we are so proud of our lovely Village and our great Community.
Ainsdale is a Good Place to Be!
We wish you all A Merry Christmas and a Peaceful New Year
