Ainsdale Village Park Playground Refurbishment
December 2020: Ainsdale Village Park – refurbishment of the playground (Liverpool Road, PR8 3BG)
The refurbishment of the children’s playground within Ainsdale Village Park was initially triggered by a generous (and confidential) legacy given to the Ainsdale Civic Society (ACS) by a former resident. The ACS at its meetings agreed to provide some play equipment for children with disabilities to enjoy with their friends and family.
Initially it was decided to install a roundabout suitable for wheelchair uses, however, after talks with Green Sefton, it was decided to try to do more.
Thanks to a grant obtained from Sefton Council we were able to extend the work to include a “Teddy Swing” for children with disabilities, revamp the old equipment and resurface the playground. In addition, we also brightened up the railings by adding cartoon characters.
The total cost was over £17,000.
The children’s playground refurbishment was a joint project between ACS and Sefton Council.
Please note, The Friends of Ainsdale Village Park volunteers were consulted throughout.
